A great Studio space and studio share option in Manhattan

by JamesNYC February 8. 2011 18:13
I had the opertunity today to work on a shoot at South Light Studio in NYC. today.
This is a really great studio in the Chelsea area of Manhattan, just a few blocks from Penn station.
Close to all of the major rental studios, and it has really GREAT South window light, and great customer service.
Really worth checking ok next time you need a rental studio.

AND this great space currently has the option as a studio share. See the details below.

-------------- Studio Share information --------------

I'm currently looking for someone interested in either sharing or subletting my beautiful daylight photo studio in the Chelsea area of Manhattan.

The studio is a 1800 sf loft on an upper floor of a elegant & well maintained building, there's 75 feet of tall southern facing windows with no outside obstructions.  The shooting area is 25 x 45', there's blackout & diffusion curtains throughout the shooting area.  The ceilings are 11' tall, the walls are freshly painted flat white, the floor is grey concrete.  There are two private offices (one available for the share) and there's storage closets throughout the studio.  There's a communal meeting area, pantry area (not a full kitchen), sound system and it's fully air conditioned.  There's a bathroom in the space, DSL/WIFI.  The building has two passenger & two freight elevators and is located close to Penn Station and the A, E, 1 and 9 subway lines.  Easy parking in several lots on the block. Access 24/7 days (commercial use only, no living).  It's available March 1, 2011.

SHARE: As a share you would have full time use of your own office, use of the shooting area half of the month, storage within the space, your name on the door, mail delivery etc.  Your share of the rent would be $2400/month (negotiable) + utilities.  One year lease (with possibility of renewal).  You'd be sharing the space with one other photographer, a still life shooter.

SUBLET ENTIRE SPACE:  $4000 month plus utilities.  One year minimum sublet, with a possible option to renew.
